Envitech is Going Places

Posted: Thursday 19th December 2013

Envitech has been supplying instrumentation to the UK Water Industry for nearly 25 years.

During that time Envitech has offered a range of products, often introducing novel technology into the market. Until recently this has been based on distributing instrumentation manufactured by other companies and configuring it for use in the UK Water Market. This work has created a substantial body of experience and knowledge. The company was started by two people with higher degrees in waste water treatment and that understanding and background has been central to the company throughout its development.

Over the last year there has been a new step forward as Envitech now manufactures the PBS ammonia monitor in Cardiff.

The company has grown especially over the last two years. New production and R&D departments have meant more people being employed, and a need for a significant increase in space.

Envitech now manufacture the PBS ammonia monitor in Cardiff. Previously this was manufactured in Germany. Envitech are developing the PBS ammonia monitor in collaboration with the University of South Wales. The two phase development program will take at least another year to complete. The end result will be a monitor which gives the same accurate measurements, with even greater ease of use, open platform electronics giving future proofing and options for the addition of multiple sensors, along with meeting the ever present requirement for lower operating costs.

The move to Capital Business Park gives us the space to meet the increasing demand for the PBS, office and production space for all the new staff, and secures the space for a Research and Development program which also involves a number of new staff. In total we have added 6 new staff members and the growth is set to continue.

The move represents a substantial investment in the business and in the future of all the employees. It is a statement of the confidence that the M.D., Jim Pickering, has in the company, all it stands for, and the market prospects for the long term future.
