DURAPIPE OFFERS FLEXIBILITY WITH NEW TKD VALVE

Posted: Tuesday 7th October 2008

Durapipe is expanding on its hugely successful and unique VKD valve with the next generation TKD ball valve, still with Dual Block® technology.

Durapipe FIP has developed the innovative 3 - way TKD ball valve, which provides superior flexibility by offering end users the capabilities to re-direct flow for easy maintenance and repair of industrial systems.

Available in ABS, PVC-U, Polypropylene and PVC-C to cater for a variety of applications, the TKD incorporates the patented Dual Block® system. This advanced technology prevents the accidental loosening of the union nuts, which can occur under severe working conditions and subsequently affects the performance of alternative union ball valves.

The TKD also incorporates the proven Seat Stop® system, which firmly establishes this product as an industrial ball valve and sets it apart from alternatives. This system sees the ball seat carrier manufactured in two pieces to ensure greater longevity of the seals in severe situations where vibration or thermal expansion occurs.

Commenting on the TKD launch, Durapipe industrial brand manager, James Roper, said: “We are constantly working to enhance the FIP brand and develop innovative products that answer customer needs and as such, the TKD offers all the high performance benefits of the VKD valve but with 3-way capability. It is also fully interchangeable with the previous TK model to allow an easy transition.”

The TKD has been designed so that an actuation device can easily be added to the valve body, which can be fully assembled and tested at the Durapipe in-house valve department. The product also provides a multi functional handle, which can be equipped with a block that can lock the valve in all positions, without increasing the overall valve dimensions.
