HUNDREDS of thousands of pounds in capital expenditure have been saved by users of CBIOs Baccelerator system, which improves the biological performance of effluent treatment plants.

The mobile biological activation unit, which can be installed in any location and runs off 415v three-phase OR 240v single phase power, continually doses tailored and acclimatised actively growing bacteria into biologically compromised treatment works to boost their performance.

The system, which can grow up powdered or liquid bacteria and runs unattended for between 1-3 months, improves nitrification by removing rogue inhibitors and in turn improves compliance with Environment Agency discharge consents.

The Baccelerator, which was developed in conjunction with a leading UK water authority, can be installed in any biological treatment plant, including municipal and industrial treatment works - it can also be used to biologically seed reed beds.
