Water UK says fresh thinking needed to create sustainable water services
Posted: Monday 12th February 2007
Speaking at the Water UK City Conference last week, Pamela Taylor, Chief Executive, said a new service culture would strengthen the water industry for the benefit of consumers and investors.
In her speech to City, water industry and other stakeholder representatives, Pamela Taylor:
• warned against a knee-jerk response by regulators to the current low cost of market debt
• called for review of industry incentives
• underlined the importance of all stakeholders agreeing a long-term vision for water
• looked forward to progress away from one-size-fits-all regulation to provide a service more targeted to consumers' needs and wishes.
The full speech will appear in the March issue of Water Active.
