Water Industry Complaints 2011-12

The Consumer Council for Water [CCWater] has published its annual report, Written Complaints Handling in the Water Industry, England and Wales.

The report shows that written complaints to water companies have fallen for the fourth consecutive year to reach their lowest level since 2005. Just over 163,000 written complaints were made across England and Wales in the year to 31 March 2012, compared to 185,000 in 2010/11 a drop of 11.9 per cent.

While many companies are evidently working hard to improve their services and increase customer satisfaction, still seven of the 23 companies reported increases in complaints, some of which were significant. CCWater will be pressing the companies in question to improve so that customers across England and Wales receive the best possible customer service.
