Three new water contracts for Sykes Pumps

Pump and de-watering specialist, Sykes Pumps, has scored a hat trick of new utilities contracts, winning a competitive tender to become primary pump hire supplier to three water companies.
Thames Water, Severn Trent Water and Wessex Water have selected Sykes for their pump hire agreements following a stringent tendering process. With a combined annual value of up to £1.5 million, the three contracts see Sykes continuing to build on its success in the water industry, where it already has a framework agreement with Anglian Water and a secondary supply contract with Scottish Water.
Steve Reeve, sales director for Sykes Pumps said, “As a specialist in the pumps industry for 150 years, Sykes Pumps has both the technical expertise and service culture to help water companies address the challenges they face. We already work for all the UK’s water companies on an ad hoc basis and these three contracts are a significant milestone in our business development strategy for this industry.”
The Thames Water and Severn Trent Water contracts will run for a period of three years, while the Wessex Water contract has a two year duration. All three include an option to extend. The new agreements will see Sykes Pumps provide a wide variety of pumping equipment for use across the water companies’ activities, including waste water treatment, drinking water plants, reservoirs and pumping stations.
Steve Reeve continued: “We were not only able to offer a wide range of cutting edge technology to win these contracts, but we were also able to demonstrate both our experience in the sector and our commitment to first rate customer service”.
