With more than double the entries received by this time last year, the 2011 Environmental Photographer of the Year looks set to have an incredible competition. As one of the fastest growing photographic competitions in the world, the Environmental Photographer of the Year is an international showcase for the very best in environmental photography and video, honouring amateurs and professionals of all ages.

And now in its fifth year, the Environmental Photographer of the Year is continuing to raise the bar in promoting awareness of global environmental, social and cultural issues through the acceptance of video entries for the very first time.

This year’s other categories are Mott MacDonald’s Changing Climates; The Natural World; Quality of Life; CS2’s Building Our Future (New for 2011); The Underwater World; A View From the Western World; and the Young Environmental Photographer of the Year (Under 16 & Under 21).

Entrants have until 5pm on 31st July 2011 to submit their pictures via www.epoty.org. Winners will share a prize fund of over £5,000 and all winning entries will be displayed at the Environmental Photographer of the Year Exhibition at the SW1 Gallery, London, later this year.
