Saxlund International - an engineering innovator and pioneer of Biomass Combustion and Materials Handling solutions - has joined forces with Axis Industries to apply Saxlund's latest alternative energy technology solutions to EPC biomass combustion contracts across the UK. The move represents a new European mega engineering capability with around 1,000 employees and a combined turnover of around 100 million.

Axis - Lithuania's largest engineering company with 20 years experience in alternative energy in the specialist field of biomass energy - will work closely with Saxlund - the UK's leader Biomass Combustion and Materials Handling solutions for 60 years - to provide customers with its EPC contract management processes and pioneering automatic and electro-engineering equipment for biomass projects.

The partnership is the latest strategic move by Saxlund International, based in Southampton, which is part of the Opcon Group with 150 staff employed in its businesses located in Sweden, Germany and UK.

According to Matt Drew, Managing Director of Saxlund International: "This new relationship marks an exciting time for us and provides a truly one-stop-shop for our customers. We're delighted to be working in conjunction with such a prominent name in the biomass energy sector and are excited to be able to bring Axis technology to EPC projects in the UK. This partnership provides the synergy of best in class companies working together to provide solutions and enables us to further strengthen our offering to our biomass customers.

"Axis has a strong reputation in the biomass sector and we're proud to be working in partnership with them. It also provides a gateway to the lucrative developing markets in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union where Axis licenses Saxlund technology. Together we are determined to become the partner of choice for biomass and EPC contracts Europe wide from the Republic of Ireland to Russia and most countries in-between."

CEO of Axis Technologies, Giedrius Vaitkevicius, explains why the two businesses have joined forces: "Our focus as a business is guided by innovative solutions that influence the technological development trends in the wider EPC and biofuel sectors. This includes an ambitious development strategy implemented and supported by our highly skilled employees and working with Saxlund will help us to access a wider range of potential clients in terms of sectors and geography.

"The company's mission is to be a reliable partner by providing our clients with integrated and innovative engineering solutions in the industrial, energy and construction sectors, working with clients to ensure they are not only satisfied with provided products but also with the professional maintenance services. Our approach is designed to help to harness natural and energy resources efficiently to the mutual benefit of clients and society."
