New Big Quiz champions Durapipe will guard the title closely

Durapipe UK are the newly crowned champions of the ninth annual Water Active Big Quiz!
Organised by Water Active & KSB and generously sponsored by ProMinent Fluid Controls & ITT Lowara, the quiz took place on Thursday 15th September 2011 at the Chateau Impney hotel in Droitwich Spa, with the sole aim being to raise as much money as possible for WaterAid.
A mere one point separated first and second place as 160 people battled it out in the most closely matched contest in the quiz’s history. After many years of finishing high up the leader board Tim Allen, Marketing Communications Manager at Durapipe UK, said he was “thrilled to finally take the top spot”.
Falling one point short and placing a respectable second was KSB Ltd. Stuart Wallis, General Manager at KSB Ltd told Water Active “It was a great evening, and KSB are proud to be a part of this vital fund raising night”.
Quizmaster Jez Kirby didn’t let his recent leg injury spoil the night, and with the aid of his crutches and some well timed pain relief he managed to stay on his feet for most of the evening.
The generosity of people in the water industry ensured the biggest raffle sales figure ever was reached. Raffle prizes included a 40” LCD TV donated by ProMinent Fluid Controls, a signed Gloucestershire cricket bat donated by Haigh Engineering, a Nintendo DS donated by Grundfos and a whole host of vouchers, wine, champagne, whiskey and chocolate.
