Mike has been married to Hazel for 35 years and has two boys, James and Charles. He lists his hobbies as sailing and walking. However, he does not list sailing home across the Irish Sea as one of his ambitions.
Mike will be based in our Shearwater office in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. We wish him well with this appointment
Meanwhile, Alaister Gemmill moves to the United Arab Emirates on 3rd November to take up his new role as General Manager – Middle East. Alaister has worked in the water and waste-water sector for 19 years, seventeen of which have been with Enpure Ltd. For the past five years, Alaister has held the position of Engineering Manager responsible for all aspects concerning the delivery of process, mechanical, electrical and control systems engineering within the company. Previous to that, he represented Enpure as a Framework Manager working as part of the Anglian Water AMP3 framework. Alaister’s technical background in the industry is in Systems Engineering where he engineered a number of major projects prior to progressing into management roles.
Alaister commented "my role in developing the Middle East market for Enpure is an exciting challenge – not least because the degree of development in some areas has somewhat outstripped the infrastructure underpinning it. Enpure has a broad range of capabilities and technologies that are directly applicable and the company’s diversification into the solid waste sector some years ago can only become increasingly relevant."
On a lighter note, having spent the last ten years playing guitar in a number of local bands, Alaister is presently contemplating whether to trade his Stratocaster in for an electric oud (an instrument similar to a lute) – watch this space !
