MWH appoints Strategic Advisory and Sustainability Director
Environmental engineering and water expert MWH has appointed James Anderson as Strategic Advisory and Sustainability Director.
This newly created role is based in MWH’s Natural and Built Environment (NBE) business unit, where James will focus on supporting service diversification in NBE by growing the current range of services to existing clients and expanding services into parallel and brand new sectors for strategic corporate advice, sustainability and climate change.
James will be based in High Wycombe, and joins MWH having been vice president of BSI Asia Region and a director in Hyder Consulting & Sd3 Global. At Hyder James was the Director of strategic advisory and climate change services.
He has 26 years’ experience in sustainability strategy, has an MSc in Environmental Management from Cranfield University, is a Chartered Engineer, a member of the Institute of Directors and co-author of the book ‘The Finance of Climate Change’.
James has also worked on a range of high profile projects overseas, advising governments and leading companies in Japan, Korea, Italy and China and undertaking work for the World Bank and the United Nations.
As a director of the board of the UK Emissions Trading Group, he has directly contributed to a number of business-focused carbon legislation initiatives such as the UK and EU’s Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), which affects over 4,000 businesses in the UK.
