Mouchel helps Northumbrian Water Limited upgrade its electronic content management system
Posted: Tuesday 11th November 2008
Mouchel’s management consulting business is helping Northumbrian Water Limited to prepare an upgrade from Open Text LiveLink 9.5 to 9.7.
Mouchel will undertake preparation work for the upgrade and produce support documentation to help all system users go through the upgrade process. Once the changes have taken place users will see an improvement in performance while searching for information.
The upgraded system will help overcome the issues the company has experienced with the old system by providing better support, reliability and performance. It will also align with the company’s wider electronic content management programme to get all solutions to drive greater business benefits across the company.
The initial piece of work by Mouchel has analysed the situation, made recommendations on what needs to be done, documented the upgrade procedures and tested the plans. Mouchel is now developing the required post implementation support.
Mouchel has been working with Northumbrian Water Limited since February 2008 as part of its programme to improve its ICT infrastructure in support of its business goals. The next stage of the process is due to begin in November when the users will have enhanced capabilities to improve their search, retrieval and access to customer information.
Ian Sutherland, project manager at Northumbrian Water Limited said: “Mouchel was chosen because it understood our vision and our approach to improving our knowledge and skills base surrounding the Open Text LiveLink upgrade.”
Phil Leonard, senior director, market lead for utilities at Mouchel’s management consulting business, said: “Securing the contract with Northumbrian Water enabled Mouchel to show that its work surrounding EDRM implementation is applicable across different sectors and has allowed us to offer Open Text services to the utilities market where we already deliver IT and consulting services.”
