Knowledge management enhances AUMA service

AUMA, the manufacturer and global supplier of electric actuators for water sector applications, has developed a knowledge management system. Recognising that the actuation industry is a global market covering a wide range of sectors, the tool is a fast track service to source product, customer and country specific information. Engineers, for example, can easily access local national standards data and relevant product documents can readily be sourced.

The result is a powerful communication solution that benefits AUMA group companies around the world and facilitates rapid responses for customers tailored to individual needs.

Supported by specialist software, the company has developed an Intranet site to pool information. Designed to make information more accessible, all head office staff have been trained in the use of the knowledge management system and each department is represented by a ‘Power User’ who manages data entries and updates.

AUMA confirms that the knowledge management Intranet is a valuable tool that

has enhanced internal and external communication. Importantly, AUMA’s philosophy of meeting customers’ individual needs is supported as information is co-ordinated and customised for regional and product configurations.
