ITT Flygt makes United Utilities framework agreement debut

Posted: Tuesday 11th September 2007

ITT Flygt has secured a framework agreement with the UK’s largest operator of water and wastewater systems.

It is the first time the pumping specialist has been awarded a capital supply agreement by United Utilities.

Flygt will design, supply, manufacture, off-load, position, install and commission submersible pumpsets, which comprise its wastewater handling pumps, associated pipework, guiderails and lifting chains.

They will be used in dry well and wet well applications, plus tank jet mixing and sludge pumping applications.

Flygt was selected for their whole life product costs and ability to meet United Utilities’ strict key performance indicators.

The agreement, which will last for a minimum two years with the possibility of a two-year extension, covers new capital contracts and the supply of replacement products for existing installations.

Flygt market development manager Trevor Parrett said: “We’re very excited at the prospect of working with United Utilities under this new Framework Agreement and will be ready to demonstrate our level of product and system engineering support to UU and their contracting partners.”
