Imtech Process has appointed a new Operations Director, Paul Bresnan, to improve and develop the operations within the company and bring a new focus to the business.

Joining from Birse Nuclear, a Balfour Beatty company, Paul brings with him 25 years of main contractor experience in EPC contracts within the utilities market in the UK. He has worked within the M&E/civil side of the business and understands the pressures and constraints that affect both and what is needed for successful delivery.

Paul started his career at Mowlem Engineering as an engineer and during his 10 years there progressed to become project manager. He worked in the petrochemical, pharmaceutical and environmental markets, including water and wastewater.

Joining Birse Process in 1995 as project manager, he continued his career journey becoming a board member responsible for the operations and engineering of the company.

During his 15 years at Birse, Paul worked with many of the major utility companies, including Thames, Yorkshire, Southwest and United Utilities, as well as EDF Energy, Scottish & Southern and most recently Sellafield.

Much of his experience includes working with joint ventures and alliances on major projects.

Commented Paul: “I am really looking forward to the challenges presented to me at Imtech Process. It is a company with highly skilled people, working on a variety of complex multi-disciplined projects. I will be looking to ensure we are structured as an engineering and operations team to respond and meet our customers’ needs whilst ensuring our own sustainability and continued improvement”
