Posted: Wednesday 15th January 2014

Hydro International has recruited Michael Jennings as Chief Executive and created a Global Leadership Team through strategic appointments designed to steer the international stormwater and wastewater technology and services group to further business growth and product innovation.

Jennings’ career to date has focused on leading international product and technology-led businesses and since 2004 he has been Managing Director of the global Industrial and Pharmaceutical Systems Division of BOC Edwards and IMA Group. Previously he has held leadership roles in AlliedSignal, Ingersoll-Rand and Flextronics.

Jennings’ initial focus at Hydro has been to form a Global Leadership Team. Roger Crook will join the new team in December as Hydro’s new Group Commercial Director to lead all product management, development and marketing activities globally. Roger was previously global Business Development Director at MBA Polymers. Before that, he spent 25 years in the pharmaceutical industry in senior roles spanning general management, R&D, sales, marketing, and business development at large global corporations, such as Wellcome (now GlaxoSmithKline), BOC Edwards, Tianli and IMA Life.

Steve Hides takes on a new role as President of Hydro Americas, building on 12 years as the company’s former Chief Executive Officer and 30 years experience with Hydro, to focus exclusively on the company’s already strong and developing presence in the region.

Martin Foyle is appointed to the new role of Managing Director Europe to build on the success of Hydro’s Stormwater and Wastewater businesses in UK and Ireland and expand business opportunities in Europe. Foyle joined Hydro as Group Commercial Director three years ago.

Clive Evans continues to lead Hydro’s International business with a brief to build on the significant opportunities developing for the company’s sustainable products in Russia, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. The Global Leadership Team is completed by Bob Andoh who continues as Chief Technology Officer and Tony Hollox, Hydro’s Chief Financial Officer.

Michael Jennings commented: “I am excited by the prospect to develop further Hydro’s technology-leading products and services. Hydro’s low energy, highly sustainable technologies for stormwater and wastewater control and treatment can support customers in meeting regulatory requirements in countries the world over.

“Given Hydro’s pedigree of technical leadership, I believe we are well placed to deliver class-leading solutions for our customers from initial design through to final commissioning, as well as ongoing service and support to optimise performance throughout the product life-cycle.”
