Gareth Mills appointed Director of MWH’s new Project Services Business Unit

Gareth Mills has been appointed as Business Unit Director for MWH’s new Project Services Business Unit.

Commenting on his appointment Gareth said: “I am delighted to be appointed as head of this new business unit which is set to play such a vital role in MWH’s business development. This is a hugely exciting opportunity to take MWH’s reputation for expertise and superior client service into other sectors, replicating our pedigree in the water sector across other areas.”

“There is a huge potential market for project management expertise in sectors where traditionally we have not operated. We have very ambitious plans and are looking to attract high calibre individuals to join our talented teams”, adds Gareth.

Gareth joined MWH from British Nuclear Fuels Ltd in 2001, and as project manager, successfully managed United Utilities Ł60 million Liverpool Wastewater Treatment Works programme.

He then led MWH’s first decommissioning contract for the UK Atomic Energy Authority at Winfrith, Dorset. Most recently he has taken a business development role for MWH Nuclear Services, developing business for the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and the Radioactive Waste Management Directorate.

“My aim for the unit is that it leads the industry in best practice, setting the gold standard for UK project management excellence – and it is something I am determined to achieve”, concludes Gareth.

The unit, which will be based at the company’s UK headquarters at Birchwood, Warrington, will focus on building multi-sector project management and commercial services across the UK. Up to 80 new jobs will be created in Warrington and other MWH offices across the country as the unit becomes established.
