Exova introduces web water sample tracker

Posted: Friday 10th June 2011

Exova, one of the UK’s leading water testing and advisory firm’s, has introduced a new web-based client portal, Exova Advantage.

Exova Advantage enables clients to track water sample results from booking into the laboratory through to sample certification via one internet system.

It allows organisations to view the status or samples 24 hours a day as they progress through the testing process. Test results are released onto the website within minutes of approval in the laboratory and early issues, such as out of specification results can be identified before all test results are certificated.

Once the testing has taken place, users have access to on-line invoices and schedules as well as on-line test certificates.

Alison Hughes, business manager at Exova Water, said: “Exova Advantage is a state-of-the-art package which enables clients to submit water samples directly on-line, improving efficiency, accuracy and traceability.

“It allows results from multiple client sites as well as different Exova laboratories to be incorporated into the same website, giving managers access to results from across their business, reducing paperwork and ensuring that the latest data can be viewed on-line. We have made a big investment to introduce Exova Advantage and firmly see it as the leading industry client portal.”

There is an option within the Exova Advantage package for clients to provide individual test specifications for each sample or product, which are then entered with the results to highlight any issues that may arise. Test specification limits can be viewed by clicking on the test result without the need to back reference information from another source.

Uniquely, Exova Advantage allows for multiple manufacturing sites to be incorporated into a single website, no matter where the samples are tested within Exova. This allows one manager to access the results of multiple sites and site security can also be set to permit the site to view only their own results. Users can be self managed by assigned client administrators and allocated access rights at different levels, limiting or giving access to other manufacturing sites as required.

The website has a function where labels can be created and attached to samples together with sample submission paperwork with all certificate alerts, certificate PDFs, invoice and schedule PDFs sent directly to the clients’ email inbox.

Exova has a network of 21 water testing locations throughout the UK, encompassing 6 laboratories and 15 drop-off locations. The company is the only water testing firm in the UK to offer a refrigerated collection service and the option of additional drop-offs where there is a specific demand, with these sample tests and results managed by Exova Advantage.
