EU SKILLS PRESS RELEASE : Be a Winner in 2009 - Enter the Business Skills Awards for the Water Industry

Energy & Utility Skills (EU Skills) are calling for entries for its annual Business Skills Awards for the Water Industry.

Now in their seventh year, the Awards have seen unprecedented success with both employees entering the Continuing Professional Development Award and businesses entering the Business Skills Award. Last year’s winner, Northern Ireland Water, won the Award of the development of a Transformation Toolkit Leadership Course and have seen the popularity of this course increase since becoming a winner, Hugh Curley, Learning and Development Manager comments:

“Winning the Business Skills Award for the Water Industry 2008 has increased the demand for the Transformation Toolkit Leadership course and has demonstrated that Northern Ireland Water has worked effectively with other organisations to deliver business improvement solutions for the both it’s staff and customers.”

The Business Skills Awards for the Water Industry will be presented at the Institution of Water Officers (IWO) Annual Conference and Exhibition President’s Dinner on Friday 24 April 2009 at the Discovery Museum, Newcastle Upon Tyne. Winning an award can boost your profile with customers and colleagues, so celebrate your excellence by entering for the 2009 awards.

There are two Award categories:

· Business Skills Awards for the Water Industry 2009

· Continuing Professional Development Award 2009, sponsored by IWO

A panel of industry experts will judge the entries and all short listed entries will be invited to join Energy & Utility Skills at the President’s Dinner.
