Law firm Dundas & Wilson has announced that senior associate Graeme Young has been promoted to partner, with effect from May 1.

Graeme specialises in public procurement, advising a wide range of public sector and utilities clients on compliance with EU rules. With procurement processes increasingly being contested, Graeme has also developed a strong practice advising unsuccessful bidders on procurement challenges. He joined Dundas & Wilson as an associate in 2005, working alongside head of EU & competition Peter Willis.

Graeme said: “I am delighted with the promotion. Peter Willis and I have worked hard to develop a truly national competition practice focusing on providing specialist support to clients in the energy and utilities sectors, the financial services sector and the public sector.

“There are enormous opportunities to develop the public procurement side of the practice. My priorities are to help the firm secure instructions on major capital and infrastructure/IT projects, as well as developing the contentious side of the practice advising on procurement challenges - a fast moving and fascinating area of the law to be in at the moment.”

Dundas & Wilson managing partner Donald Shaw added: “Graeme is a superb practitioner and offers valuable expertise and commercial understanding to our clients in all areas of competition law, and specifically on public procurement issues. This is an extremely well deserved promotion.

”We're delighted to have someone of Graeme's calibre as a partner to help us take advantage of the many opportunities in this area.”
