Business Stream secures over £250 million in new contract wins

Posted: Monday 5th August 2019

Edinburgh based water retailer Business Stream has generated over £250 million in new contract wins in the two years since the English retail water market opened in April 2017.

Recent wins include the UK-wide portfolios of Lloyds Banking Group, Network Rail, Regus Management (UK) and Cancer Research. The water retailer also secured a deal with the Yorkshire Purchasing Organisation (YPO) framework, which was the largest single public sector contract awarded this year.

These deals are in addition to wins in the market’s first year, which included the UK-wide portfolios of Greggs and Morrisons and water and wastewater deals with Veolia, Places for People and Southampton Airport.

At the start of the year Business Stream announced its plans to acquire the non-household customer base of Yorkshire Water Business Services and Three-Sixty, a second acquisition for the water retailer since the English market opened. This latest deal has now been confirmed and will see the company manage an additional 140,000 customers. The acquisition almost doubles Business Stream’s market share, cementing its position as one of the top three largest water retailers in the UK market.

Jo Dow, Chief Executive of Business Stream, commented: ““It has been an exciting two years for our business. Using our expertise and experience gained from over 10 years of operating in the Scottish retail water market, we have firmly established ourselves as one of the largest water retailers in the UK. We remain focused on continually raising the bar to provide market leading services, alongside our commitment to help our customers reduce their water use by 20%. Looking ahead, our focus will be on ensuring a seamless transition for our new customers, whilst making sure all of our customers continue to receive a great level of service.” Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE
