Posted: Monday 7th September 2009

Brammer, the UKs leading supplier of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, has secured a major new contract with leading utilities supplier Thames Water.

Thames Water, the UKs largest water and sewerage company serving 13.6 million customers across London and the Thames Valley, has awarded Brammer a sole supply contract for bearings, mechanical power transmission, seals, gaskets, fluid power and associated products.

Over the duration of this three-year contract, Brammer will improve maintenance spare parts management for Thames Water by driving product range consolidation, reducing the number of parts required to eliminate stock duplication, obsolescence and waste. In addition, through a range of added value, managed services, Brammer will deliver improved product availability and reduce supply chain administration and complexity, creating valuable operational cost savings in the process.

Brammer has worked with Thames Water for more than eight years and this new contract is a testament to the proactive partnership approach adopted by Brammer during that time.

The new Supply of Industrial Parts Mechanical and Fasteners agreement with Brammer replaces various framework agreements held by Thames Water with a number of service providers.

Lisa Lewens, Category Manager - Maintenance and Services Team, for Thames Water Supply Chain, commented: Weve established an excellent relationship with Brammer as an existing framework agreement holder and are delighted to be able to expand that on a formal basis for a longer period. They will play a key role in our drive for greater standardisation and in adding value across our operations.

Mike England, Key Account Director for Brammer added: To have won this major contract from a leading organisation like Thames Water is a testament to the strength of our customer service and confirms our position as the leading MRO supplier to the UK water industry. Our ability to offer the widest possible range of products and services, backed by a responsive, nationwide, Sales & Service centre network, continues to win major contracts for Brammer across all industry sectors.
