Utilities and Service Industries Training Limited (USIT) are now offering conference fee sponsorship for a limited number of people to attend the 2009 IWO Conference, ‘Climate Change – Our Role in a Global Crisis’, plus £100 towards accommodation for successful applicants to their latest award.
Successful applicants will get a unique opportunity to see a number of high profile figures from the UK Water Industry as the theme ‘Climate Change – Our Role in a Global Crisis’ is debated.
Jack Carnell, the IWO President and Managing Director of South Staffordshire Water plc will chair this year’s conference:
"The Water Industry is responsible for around 2% of UK carbon dioxide emissions - largely the result of our energy consumption. As practitioners we have a huge responsibility and a real opportunity; from water efficiency and renewables through to capital investment, innovation and procurement practice. This Conference will present and debate what we have done, what we are doing and what we have yet to do.”
Delegates will be welcomed to the North East on a sightseeing cruise down the River Tyne, and a site visit has been planned to the famous visitor attraction Alnwick Garden. The Business Skills Awards for the Water Industry 2009 will also be presented in a prestigious ceremony in the Grand Hall at the Discovery Museum during the IWO President’s Dinner.
The IWO Conference will take place from Thursday 23 April – Saturday 25 April 2009 at the Sage Gateshead. The deadline for USIT sponsorship applications is 31 January 2009.
