Water and wastewater treatment specialist AshbrookSimon-Hartley Ltd has acquired the assets of centrifuge manufacturer Centriquip from theadministrator.
Matt Gibson, Ashbrook Simon-Hartley’s managing director says: “Centriquip’s product range and the expertise of their people are the main attractions in this acquisition. As the leading UK manufacturer of centrifuges their capabilities fit well with our strengths in gravity belt thickener and belt filter press technology.
“We serve the same customer base with different but complimentary technologies, so the combined product range will enable us to offer customers complete solutions now. The acquisition also creates the scale needed to compete with the biggest players globally in the water and wastewater treatment industry.
“In particular we can see big potential for developing sales of Centriquip products in the USA and to pursue further growth in industrial applications. Customer service is a key strength of Centriquip and it’s a large part of our business, so that’s something we’ll be building on together too.”
All former Centriquip staff and directors have transferred to Ashbrook Simon Hartley’s employment. Although Ashbrook Simon-Hartley’s Newcastle-under-Lyme office will be the UK headquarters for the expanded business, the Centriquip product range will continue to be manufactured at, and serviced from, their Chesterfield site.
