The first ever edition of Aquatech India will be held in New Delhi between 3 and 5 February 2010. This combined exhibition and congress is a joint venture betweenAmsterdamRAI and Inter Ads-Brooks Exhibitions (India) Pvt. Ltd., organiser ofIndia’s leading water event WaterAsia. AquatechIndiaincorporates the WaterAsiashow. The event focuses on drinking water, process water and waste water and is supported by the International Water Association (IWA) and the Water Quality Association (WQA). With the addition of AquatechIndiato the group of Aquatech Global Events, it is fast becoming the largest and most international series of water events in the world.

Amsterdam RAI already organises the highly successful Aquatech shows in Europe, China and the USA. At Aquatech India, over 200 market leaders in the international world of water use, desalination and water management will exhibit across 15,000 square metres of the Pragati Maidan Exhibition Centre in New Delhi. The exhibition will focus on process, drinking and waste water technology, with an emphasis on water treatment, reuse, transport and storage, process control/ automation and point of use.

Aquatech Amsterdam moves to 2011

In close consultation with the industry, Amsterdam RAI has decided to move the next Aquatech Amsterdam to the autumn of 2011. The 24th edition of the world’s leading trade exhibition on process, drinking and waste water will now take place from 1 to 4 November 2011 in Amsterdam. From this time onwards, the show will be held every two years (in the uneven years) in the autumn.

“Aquatech Amsterdam is a must-attend event for international decision-makers from governmental and business sectors,” explains Paddy Young, Director Aquatech Global Events at Amsterdam RAI. “The event calendar for the water industry in even years features too many trade shows. This is to the detriment of everyone in the industry, as nobody gains by having to spread their resources”, states Young. “In the interest of exhibiting companies and their clients, we have taken the opportunity to strengthen our international position by launching Aquatech India while at the same time expanding our portfolio in the uneven years. Ultimately, this enables us to further grow the latent potential of Aquatech Amsterdam.”

“We are delighted with the proactive approach Aquatech has taken resolving the congested calendar of key water exhibitions,” says Paul Reiter, Executive Director of the International Water Association (IWA). “The organisers engaged in extensive consultations with industry leaders and responded to their needs. As a result Aquatech Amsterdam will move to odd number years (2011, 2013, etc.), with positive consequences for all.” Reiter adds: “At the same time we are thrilled about the expansion into India, which is an important water market for our members. We have great faith that the Aquatech India show will be as successful as the other Aquatech events worldwide.”

Bringing clean water to the world

According to Theo Lingmont, Director International Exhibitions at Amsterdam RAI, these developments also illustrate the long-term vision for Aquatech. “Even in the current economic climate, our goal is to look at viable business opportunities that will enable us to grow in the future. Recession or not, water will remain a subject matter of vital importance to our world and the RAI is committed to investing in this sector.”

Added value forIndia

By creating platforms for knowledge transfer, Aquatech helps disseminate expertise and enhance education. Aquatech India will offer local water professionals the chance to learn more about reducing water consumption, treating industrial effluent and preventing contamination.

“We are happy to partner with Aquatech as the world’s leading water event organisers,” adds Rajan Sharma of Inter Ads-Brooks Exhibitions (India) Pvt. Ltd. “After nine successful years of Water Asia, which have truly established it as India’s leading event, we are now in a position to move to the next level. Together with the international exhibitors of Aquatech, we will make Aquatech India the most influential and high profile international water show in the region.”

The Dutch water industry will be prominently represented in the Holland Pavilion in New Delhi, along with other country presentations. In addition to the exhibition and congress, Aquatech India will include the AquaStages, an IWA conference and the Indian edition of the renowned Aquatech Innovation Awards. Aquatech India will be a unique gathering of decision makers, professionals, advisors, technical experts, engineering organisations, consultants and engineers.
