Successful UK water saving app to be launched to 90 million US households.

Save Water Save Money (SWSM), the global business which specialises in helping people and businesses save water, announces a new partnership with the National Rural Water Association (NRWA).

The NRWA is a non-profit organization dedicated to training, supporting, and promoting the water and wastewater professionals that serve small communities across the United States. It is the largest water and wastewater utility membership association in North America.

From July, customers of member utilities of the NRWA, will be able to use the aqKWa Savings Engine- to analyse domestic water usage and advise on ways of making their water and energy usage more efficient.

After taking a few minutes to fill in details of their household use, the tool will provide a personalised in-depth report on usage and bespoke advice on saving water and energy, such as cutting a minute off your shower time, or the smarter use of outdoor irrigation systems.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), each American uses an average of 88 gallons of water per day in the home, and the average family can waste 180 gallons per week- 9,400 gallons annually - from household leaks, which waste around 900 billion gallons of water each year. The aqKWa Savings Engine will not only help to reduce this, but be the first aggregator of water usage data in the US at a granular level.

Matthew Holmes, Deputy CEO, National Rural Water Association, said: "The aqKWa Savings Engine is simple, transparent and has the potential to provide real support to rural Water Utilities. The NRWA will offer this to around 90 million customers through 31,000 Water Utilities right across the United States of America. It has the potential to improve customer service, reduce pipe leakage, encourage water and energy efficiency and allow us to understand how customers value water and how to translate that value into better supply and demand strategies."

Tim Robertson, CEO of Save Water Save Money, commented: "This partnership represents the scale of our ambition. Our mission is to build awareness of water and energy efficiency on a global basis, and this partnership is another step to achieving that goal. Helping consumers make small changes can have a profound impact on cutting down their bills, as well as benefitting the planet too.

"The aqKWa Savings Engine puts consumers back in control of their bills, water and energy usage. Society is starting to wake up to environmental challenges like never before, and this partnership will enable millions of people to lead a more sustainable lifestyle."

The aqKWa Savings Engine is available at: www.aqKWa.co.uk

In the UK, the aqKWa Savings Engine also compares current usage to price plans offered by all gas and electricity providers, giving customers an unbiased and simple overview of all options available. Once they've selected the best deal for them, it will complete the switch, so they'll never be paying more than they should.
