Posted: Thursday 30th September 2010

Hydrosave (UK) Ltd are delighted to announce the acquisition of Subaqua Solutions Ltd, which expands the company’s existing Scottish coverage to make Hydrosave the largest specialist water leak detection business in Scotland.

Subaqua Solutions is an established water leak detection and utility services business based in Dundee. The business has an excellent reputation in Scotland, shows significant scope for growth and includes a management team with a wealth of multi-utility contracting and consultancy experience.

Combined Strength, Continued Growth

Hydrosave has seen considerable growth over the last 5 years and, since acquisition by South Staffordshire Water Plc in 2007, has successfully increased its client base and further developed its reputation for excellent service and project management.

With a singular focus on water, Hydrosave's services are supported by water industry experts with unparalleled experience and knowledge of the water industry's unique requirements and issues, giving the company the credibility and expertise to build long lasting and productive client relationships.

The company’s strategic business plan for growth and diversification in the UK includes senior recruitment, further acquisitions and customer retention. The acquisition of Subaqua Solutions significantly strengthens the business, confirming Hydrosave as one of the largest specialist water leak detection businesses in the UK and enhances the company's ability to grow and diversify while continuing to provide an extremely high quality service.

Simon Dray, Managing Director of Hydrosave, sees great potential in the wealth of additional expertise the acquisition brings: “Hydrosave’s best asset is our staff, whose wide range of skills and experience have been gained through years of involvement within the UK Water Industry. Subaqua Solutions are equally committed to maintaining these exacting standards and by combining forces, Hydrosave will become one of the highest skilled, most knowledgeable water efficiency service providers in the UK. We’re delighted to welcome them on board”

Scottish Water also welcomed the acquisition as a positive move that will enable their continuing success in reducing leakage towards their targeted ELL in 2013/2014, stating: “Scottish Water has exceeded its Regulatory Targets over the last two years in reducing leakage by over 200MLD. As Framework Partners both Hydrosave and Subaqua Solutions have provided a significant contribution to this overall reduction. This acquisition provides an opportunity to develop best practice and innovation whilst retaining the focus required to achieve current and future targets. Scottish Water looks forward to an ongoing and successful partnership with Hydrosave/Subaqua.”

Dundee Reporting Centre Becomes New Hydrosave Scotland HQ

The business will be integrated with current Hydrosave operations in order to further facilitate growth in Scotland, particularly with Scottish Water, local authorities, industrial customers and infrastructure owners. Subaqua Solutions’ Dundee reporting centre will now become the centre for all Hydrosave Scotland operations.

Although former owners Paul Harte and Robert Smith will not remain with the business in their current capacities, Paul will be retained as a consultant to assist with new business ventures that may benefit the group.

Hydrosave looks forward to developing and growing the water leak detection business within Scotland and extends a warm welcome to Subaqua Solutions’ management and staff.
