Polypipe Civils Supplies Holistic Water Management Solution for Commercial Development

Posted: Friday 26th September 2008

Polypipe Civils has provided a holistic water management solution using its Polystorm modular cell, Eco-Vat rainwater harvesting tank and Ridgidrain structured-wall drainage pipe in the construction of a new commercial development at Trafford Park, Manchester.

Working closely with the main construction contractor, Morgan Ashurst and groundworker, Cara Construction on-site, Polypipe Civils supplied the £70,000 water management solution to collect rainwater from the roof of a new warehouse for re-use in toilet flushing and a modular attenuation solution for surface water drainage through the use of its Polystorm cell. Alongside the Eco-Vat and Polystorm products, Ridgidrain structured-wall drainage pipe was also used to connect the water management solution to the new building and existing drainage network.

The warehouse unit for which Polypipe Civils has supplied the holistic water management solution is to be used by sportswear giant adidas as a regional distribution and warehouse centre.

Rachel Smith, Marketing Manager for Polypipe Civils comments:

“This project is another example of how our products are designed to be integrated together to offer a holistic solution to the issue of drainage and water management. We are beginning to see an increase in the number of projects that require a holistic approach as customers look to achieve sustainability targets by installing products such as sustainable drainage systems and rainwater harvesting tanks.”
