Hook Norton Brewery choose Landia’s pumps

Posted: Wednesday 27th July 2011

Landia has won an order to supply a new aeration system at one of the best loved independent breweries in the UK.

Dry-mounted MPTK-1 chopper pumps (7.5kW) from Landia will aerate wastewater at a loading rate of 10kg COD/m3 from the Hook Norton Brewery, which is famous for its fine ales and beers such as Hooky Gold and Old Hooky.

The innovative knife system of Landia’s chopper pumps is designed to ensure that solids cannot get into the pump and clog it up, so there is no downtime. The specially designed pump casing and impeller also protects it from impurities.

At its family-run base in Oxfordshire, which is recognised as the finest example of a Victorian tower brewery, Hook Norton’s policy of reusing water from the brewing process has given it one of the best records in the industry for the amount of water used per amount of beer produced.
