The Hidrostal self-priming diesel driven pump - Betsy - is hard at work helping the Environment Agency protect homes against flooding as heavy rain continues to hit England and Wales.
Along the River Severn corridor the Environment Agency has a number of Betsy’s strategically placed to help with flood prevention. At Upton-upon-Severn which was badly affected by last summer’s floods, the Authorities are now much better prepared and have flood barriers in place with Betsy pumps strategically positioned to pump away seepage water.
