DETECTRONIC TO PROVIDE SMART NETWORK MONITORING IN CYPRUS

Posted: Wednesday 21st June 2017

Working in partnership with their Greek agent, Metrica, flood and pollution prevention specialists, Detectronic, are set to provide smart network monitoring for the Sewerage Board of Limassol-Amathus (SBLA) in Cyprus.

After winning a contract from SBLA in which Metrica specified Detectronic’s tried and tested ATEX MSFM Multi-Sensor Flow Monitors, both companies will work together to install the flow measurement monitoring system.

Explains Dave Walker, Detectronic’s commercial director: “This is the latest in a number of wastewater monitoring projects we have delivered with Metrica and we are delighted to be working with the team again.

“Tasked with construction, operation and maintenance of the public sewerage and stormwater drainage system of Greater Limassol, the SBLA is committed to improving the hygienic and environmental conditions in the area. In order to achieve this, SBLA recognised that flow monitoring of the main sewage networks was imperative.”

Continues Hippokrates Pappas, Metrica’s technical director: “The system we have specified is a portable one. As such, we have worked with Dave and his team to create mounting brackets in varying diameters that will enable SBLA’s technical department to draw hydraulic conclusions on specific areas of the sewage network in Limassol.

“As part of the contract, we will train SBLA’s technical operatives to programme, use and install the system to ATEX standards so they will ultimately be able to make a decision whether to permanently install equipment for monitoring.

“Furthermore, we will provide technical support and service for two years and explore opportunities to combine or calibrate the system with Detectronic DataPro.”

Concludes Dave: “We expect this project to expand across other regions over the next 12 months so this represents an exciting milestone for Detectronic’s global operations.”
